Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure

The imaginative, hilarious comedy, PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, stars happy-go-lucky Pee-Wee Herman (aka comedian Paul Reubens.) Pee-Wee Herman is not an average little boy–he exists in a grown-up body, has a penchant for 1950s Retro memorabilia, and lives in a zany, make-believe world. He is on a mission to find his beloved red bicycle, which has been stolen, and on the way Pee-Wee has a series of cartoon-like adventures. (1 hr. 30 min.)

El Nominado

A dystopic view of the world of reality television, EL NOMINADO takes it to its logical extreme, speculating on just how far TV makers will go to garner ratings. TV exec Patricio (Francisco Reyes) is spearheading a new reality TV show that is slated to air opposite a popular soccer match. A group 10 people of disparate backgrounds and dispositions are chosen and transported by helicopter in to a remote bunker in the Andes Mountains, where their every action is monitored as they try to survive with little food, water, and only each other for entertainment. Home audiences choose one person each week to throw off the show, but when one contestant refuses to leave, all hell breaks loose–and ratings soar. As the contestant starts killing his opponents one by one, Partricio must decide between intervening in the violence, and satisfying the viewers’ voyeuristic desire for it. Co-starring in this horrific satire are Christian de la Fuente (BASIC, HIDDEN HILLS), and Rene Lavan (CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS, AZUCAR, AMARGA).

Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas

In this live-action adaptation of the famous Christmas tale by Dr. Seuss, director Ron Howard (APOLLO 13, SPLASH), casts comedian Jim Carrey in the title role, giving this rendition of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS a perverse, manic spin. Add great special effects and a fast-moving script and this well-loved story of a freakish green monster living in a mountainside cave who disguises himself as Santa Claus, and steals the Christmas goodies from every single home in Whoville, becomes a hilarious holiday comedy. (1 hr. 45 min.)
