Since getting his start on PUNK’D, Dax Shepard has had the privilege of starring opposite Hollywood’s loveliest ladies, from Jessica Simpson in EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH to Amy Poehler in BABY MAMA. SMOTHER continues that tradition, pairing the comic actor with Liv Tyler and Diane Keaton. In this comedy, Shepard stars as a down-on-his-luck therapist whose mother (Keaton) moves into his house with her five dogs and without any desire to leave.

Directors Danny Jacobs and Darren Grodsky assemble an enviable cast–including Fairuza Balk, Peter Bogdanovich, Frances Conroy, Brad Dourif, and Chris Messina–for their first film. Newcomer Jeremy Strong holds his own with the veteran actors, playing Peter Hadley, a man whose one-night stand with Bogart (Balk) ends with him at her family home in the California region of the title. Though Peter is an uptight med student, he soon finds understanding with the laid-back, pot-loving residents.

In this religious romantic drama, Kirk Cameron (LEFT BEHIND) stars as Captain Caleb Holt, a firefighter who is brave enough to risk his life daily but he can’t save his marriage. When he and his wife (Erin Bethea) are on the verge of divorce, Caleb’s father steps in and asks him to take “The Love Dare”: 40 days of spiritually driven ways to try to get back into his wife’s heart. At first, Caleb doesn’t have much success…until he realizes that he has to get his relationship with God in order before he can improve his marriage.

Diane Lane and Richard Gere, who previously played a couple in UNFAITHFUL, star here as an unhappily married woman and a conflicted man drawn together by a storm in the town of Rodanthe, North Carolina.
