Robot Chicken: Star Wars opens July 22nd, 2008 (DVD)

The warped minds at Adult Swim’s ROBOT CHICKEN take their demented sensibility to the holy grail of sci-fi epics, STAR WARS, in this hilarious special. Jaws will drop as Luke Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine trade “yo mama” jokes, George W. Bush and Abraham Lincoln battle it out with lightsabers, and Darth Vader sobs on the telephone. But the show really hits its stride when riffing on the franchise’s supporting characters, including bug-eyed Admiral Akbar (promoting a delicious breakfast cereal), the rowdy barflies at the Mos Eisley Cantina (a couple of architects out for a tragic after-work drink), and of course Jar Jar Binks (thank you). As usual, a cast of celebrities lend their voices to the animated antics–including Hulk Hogan, Conan O’Brien, and James Van Der Beek–with even George Lucas getting in on the action for his flannel-clad counterpart.
